A leading Russian politician is urging the country’s culture ministry to ban the Disney film Beauty and the Beast, claiming it is “gay propaganda”.
This comes shortly after Emma admitted a “scheduling conflict” with the making of “Beauty and the Beast” was to blame for her not accepting a starring role in “La La Land”.
Director Bill Condon previously stated the character LeFou, Gaston’s sidekick, played by Josh Gad “is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston”.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the release of “Beauty and the Beast” has been postponed until further notice”, TGV Cinemas said on its website, adding that it would refund customers who had bought tickets in advance.

The Starpoint High School Musical Club will present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the high school auditorium, 4363 Mapleton Road. As we’re told in the most famous song it borrows from the 1991 animated film, this is a “tale as old as time”.
The role of Mia was eventually given to Emma Stone after Emma Watson turns down the project for the Disney film. Watson wanted Belle to have her own back-story, and a strong reason why the other villagers regarded her as different.
This isn’t the first time Watson has enchanted us with her outfits; for the film’s United Kingdom premiere in late February she wore a pale blue gown that was pure fairy-tale.
Academy Award-winning costumer designer Jacqueline Duran (Pride & Prejudice) worked on Beauty and the Beast. It also stars Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellan, Emma Thompson, and Stanley Tucci.
