Leaders with Visit Indy said the NFL Scouting Combine weekend has always made a significant impact on the local economy and with fans able to get more involved the impact will be even greater. The concern is that running back just isn’t a highly-valued position anymore, and even an elite back isn’t necessarily worthy of top-10 pick.

With the NFL Scouting Combine about to begin – and the NFL Draft just about two months away – we’ll take a daily look at the collegiate talent available at positions where the Patriots might be looking for help.

“I’m a changed man, ” Bolles said.

One thing is certain, they won’t become teammates on NFL Draft day.

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson, who starred at FCS-level University of Northern Iowa, is the most recent one of those diamonds.

“When 11 of the 12 teams in the playoffs don’t have a first-round running back, I think that’s proof positive that’s a good philosophy”, Kiper said, referring to the starting running backs in this past season’s playoff field.

But it’s also possible that a player who has suffered a diagnosed concussion in college can go his entire National Football League career without one. “I have him as the fourth-best outside linebacker, I had him in the Top 25 at one point during the regular season and now I have him around 34, so I have an early second-round grade on (him)”. “That’s been my whole life”.

With players like Leonard Fournette and Dalvin Cook, this isn’t saying that I’m expecting them to run 40 times at the specific speed listed.

“What separates me is I can do it all”.

This is just the start of a big week for so numerous top prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The interview process is one of the biggest eye openers, not just for the general managers, coaches and scouts conducting them, but also for the players.

Both are certain to impress here, as Cook did at Florida State and Fournette did at Louisiana State the past few seasons.

He had an extremely productive year in 2016 – the 6-foot-6, 314 pounder earned All-Big Ten honors – but he suffered a hip injury at the end of the season, which forced him to have surgery.

Fournette said he is confident he can brush up on his receiving and blocking skills to become an every-down back.

“The workout was the easy part”, said receiver Sammie Coates. Loose hips are normally a good thing, as it means that a player is good at moving on the field.

NY also met with Alabama tight end O.J.

“Everything they ask you is a set up”.

The question for this website – and it’s a significant question – is just how much this issue will have to do with the Jaguars come late April. Over his four years in high school at quarterback, Akers recorded 8,140 passing yards and 5,103 rushing yards with a total of 149 touchdowns responsible for — 78 through the air and 71 on the ground.

But the Western Kentucky product believes he can also play tackle and center in the NFL.

A report emerged Thursday morning suggesting that the Birds were considering trading for Saints receiver Brandin Cooks, and another said teams might be interested in acquiring Philadelphia’s backup quarterback, Chase Daniel.
