A GoFundMe page has been set up to help in funeral costs for a family of six that were found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning Sunday, Feb. 21 inside a Fenton Township home.
The Genesee County sheriff says a generator was being run in the basement of the house, likely due to a Friday night power outage.
Deputies were called to a house in the 13000 block of Stony Brook Pass on Sunday afternoon and located the bodies of two adults and four children.
“Were were texting on Friday about getting together for sisters night out”, Lisa Schweizer said. “It appears the accident may be cause by carbon monoxide inside the home”, said Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell.
His body was found next to the generator and the rest of the family was scattered about the house. They’re not sure how long the generator had been running before it turned off.
The mother’s body found was with the 2-year-old son in the child’s bedroom. while the others were found in other rooms.
“And the body bags are coming out”.
Carbon Monoxide is colorless and odorless but breathing it can be deadly.
