FBI Interviews Hillary Clinton About Private Email Server

Speaking to NBC News’ Chuck Todd yesterday, the presumptive Democratic candidate said: “I’ve been eager to do it and I was pleased to have the opportunity to assist the department in bringing its review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview”, Merrill said on Saturday.

If, Clinton, as many Washington insiders expect, escapes indictment over the email issue, the former President’s actions are certain to be enlisted by conservatives who have already been framing a case that the probe is a set up orchestrated by the Obama administration.

Clinton has repeatedly expressed regret about using a private email server, saying she would take it back if she could.

“I trust Hillary Clinton in part, because, for a whole lot of reasons”, Brown said on “This Week” on ABC. She continued the liberal media narrative that Bill meet with Lynch because he is a social guy.

A source close to the investigation told the Daily Caller the interview will take place at Clinton’s home in Washington, D.C. The direct questioning of Clinton is believed to be the final step in the bureau’s investigation not only into the presidential candidate’s handling of classified information, but also into possible public corruption charges in relation to the Clinton Foundation.

The FBI still does not have 30,000 emails the expected Democratic nominee for president claimed to have deleted.

Asked on Saturday on MSNBC whether she had broken the law, Clinton repeated her defence: “I never received nor sent any material that was marked classified”.

“The email use, in of itself, she says she did it for convenience”.

Still, it thrust her potentially precarious legal position back into the news at a time when Trump has been building his case against her on character – calling her “Crooked Hillary” and claiming that she should be thrown in jail because of her use of a private server. “I know that’s something that I’m going to keep working on, and I think that’s, you know, a clear priority for me”.

Some Republican lawmakers are also urging for an independent investigation after Attorney General Leretta Lynch had a private meeting with Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton at an airport on Thursday.

The White House has maintained that the Justice Department is keeping politics out of the investigation, which is happening at the same time as Hillary Clinton’s run for office.

“Well, I think, you know, hindsight is 20/20”.

Clinton said she had no knowledge of any timeline for the review and would not comment on whether she was given an indication that charges would not be filed. The Associated Press revealed the existence of the server in March 2015.

There is one remaining political cloud hanging over Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Bill Clinton’s chat with the Attorney General has increased the chances that it will turn into a storm
