Unfortunately, at the time of publishing, we still don’t know when the game will be fully online again. Several hours later, they were still down – and it has taken Epic almost a full 24 hours to fix the damage, which has been blamed on database corruption.
There’s going to be more downtime on the way for Fortnite.
As of this writing, it is unknown what caused the extended downtime, with the developer stating that “more updates” will come in due time.
During wait periods, login will now remember your place in line if you quit out of the game and return. It’s entirely possible that Epic is planning something for that space, though it’s also just as likely that what players found is actually still part of the old map. Additionally, resource farming has been increased 75 percent while ammo spawns at double and triple the normal rate.
“Next week, we will be granting a pack of Battle Stars to our Battle Royale players and Seasonal Gold to the Save the World players”, the studio said. The developers first tweeted about the issues last night at 21:00 GMT, so they’ve have been ongoing for close to a full 24 hours.
