Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been tipped to become “bigger” than one of Britain’s most successful sporting stars in history following his victory over Wladimir Klitschko. The Ukrainian former world champion rose unsteadily before being floored again.
On a heady night, the most unaffected figure of all seemed to be Joshua himself.
A cross section of boxing legends and enthusiasts who wrote on their Twitter handles, noted that the match was an epic encounter between two great boxers who gave spectators, “a run for their money”.
He is a great fighter as well as a great chess player.
It was the best heavyweight bout for a long time, and both were rightly praised for their efforts. “A lot of questions answered by @anthonyfjoshua #JoshuaKlitchsko”, he tweeted. “Thank you so much for your support to the sport and this fight”.
“It’s kind of amusing but I know exactly how he would be thinking and what he would say”.
Speaking with UK Sun, Okorodud recalled that nine years back, Joshua’s efforts to represent Nigeria at the 2008 Olympic Games were futile as the Nigerian boxing officials turned him down.
As boxing states, you leave your ego at the door and you respect your opponent.
Deontay Wilder will probably need to make at least 1 to 2 title defenses of his World Boxing Council belt before Joshua is free to face him in unification fight in 2018.
Wladimir Klitschko has expressed his interest in an immediate rematch with Anthony Joshua after suffering a dramatic 11th-round stoppage defeat at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
However, Joshua revealed that he is already looking ahead to his next bout and hopes to learn from his win over Klitschko to make himself even better in the future.
“Two gentleman fought each other”.

There is a rematch clause in Klitschko’s contract but there will be voices urging him to quit on as near to a high as a defeat is likely to get you.
Having seen nearly everything in a 21-year professional career, one might have expected Klitschko’s ability to sense a finish to be stronger but throwing wildly against a man as powerful as Joshua is also not advised.
