The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 may cost 20 percent more than its predecessor and its release may be delayed to April, based on the latest rumors.
Every year, Samsung launches a Galaxy flagship along with a handful of variants like the Note and Edge. Even though Samsung has continued to remained mum about this, a team of teardown experts revealed that the aggressive design of the Note 7 was the reason why it ended up exploding.
As reported by 9 to 5 Google, Samsung will release the Galaxy S8 in New York City, a place in which the company launched the Galaxy S4 a few years ago.
According to analysts, the curved-screen may not be enough for Samsung to drive up the demand for its flagship Samsung Galaxy S8. A bendable Note 8, on the other hand, would be a flexible phablet where the whole display can be made to follow a certain curved surface, for example, snapping a whole phone on your wrist. This should be expected as the Galaxy S8 will likely change at least one of its most essential elements in a big way – its display.
“We will re-examine every aspect of the device, including all hardware, software, manufacturing and the overall battery structure”, Gregory Lee, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, wrote in the public apology published in three major USA newspapers. Samsung may perhaps introduce foldable smartphones to improve the efficiency of usage.
This will make the smartphone the first in its lineup to eliminate the physical home button, which, as XDA Developers points out, a feature that Samsung has always used on its offerings.
It is also expected to feature an 8GB internal memory, a 3GB RAM, a 12MP main camera with autofocus, face detection, flash and touch focus, and an 8MP front-snapper. We’re anticipating for a Mobile World Congress launch in Barcelona, Spain this coming February 2017 but there is a possibility that the announcement will be moved to a different month.
