Will Hurd whether Trump owed Obama an apology for the unproven allegation.

Johnson said he also posted that information on an Internet discussion board, which another member shared with Napolitano.

“I didn’t make opinion on it, that was statement made by a very talented lawyer on Fox [News]”, he added, saying that reporters “shouldn’t be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox”.

He tweeted: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory”.

Fox News judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano had reportedly claimed that “three intelligence sources confirmed to him” that the Obama administration used GCHQ to spy on Trump.

On Sunday, Germany’s biggest-selling daily Bild said that throughout the White House meeting, not once did Trump look her in the eye.

GCHQ had previously dismissed the wiretap as “utterly ridiculous”.

The Prime Minister’s spokesman said government officials had “received assurances” from the White House that the claims would not be repeated.

“Of course they wouldn’t do it”, Ledgett said from his office at NSA headquarters at Fort Meade in Maryland. “It is very unfair that NATO allies do not pay their share”, concluded Trump on the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

The House Intelligence Committee requested that proof of wiretapping be submitted by a Monday hearing – the Justice Department has since asked for more time to gather evidence.

One day after a sometimes awkward and seemingly chilly meeting between President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Trump took to Twitter to say Germany owes “vast sums of money” for America’s defense of Germany.

Pictures and video show that the President did shake hands with Merkel when she first entered the White House and met. “We talked about the worldwide situation, we discussed the shared interests that we have”, said Merkel on her remarks.

And then he put forward the misleading claim that Germany own the United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation “vast sums” of money. Trump said he did not believe in isolationism but that trade policy should be fairer.

“I am a free trader, but I’m also a fair trader”.
