The company is offering USA and United Kingdom customers free Chromecasts when you pay for three months of Spotify Premium. The media streaming device still does the same thing as the old version, you can “cast” videos, music and games to your TV using your phone, tablet or computer as the controller. My this deal is mighty. But we’ve all used a different email to get a free month of Netflix, so we won’t judge you for doing what you have to do.
From today until February 28th, the hugely-popular cross-platform streamer will bundle a free Chromecast to those who cough-up for Spotify Premium.
The story behind the story: Although Chromecast first launched in 2013, and quickly expanded its roster of supported music apps, Spotify avoided the device until last fall.
The music streaming service also warns users that they will be able to get a free unit as long as supplies last. It seems Google was satisfied with the results and has partnered with the music streaming service for this offer.
The catch here is that it appears to only work for new Premium subscribers.
This figure was boosted by a major three-month global promotion from October-December previous year, which gave customers three months of Spotify Premium for just $1.
The second generation Chromecast is available from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, Good Guys, and Google’s online store, while the Chromecast Audio is available JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Google’s online store. Apple Music, meanwhile has about 11 million paid subscribers.
This latest and arguably best offer yet from Spotify comes in the wake of Kanye West’s release of his new album “The Life of Pablo“, exclusively on Tidal.
