After the success of the first set of Pixel phones, Google is gearing up to release the next Pixel lineup.
Google Assistant can be used to open apps, text someone, play/pause music, call your friends, post a tweet, make movie reservations and much more.
Since its release, the device went through some physical and technical issues such as the glass display, microphone problems, Bluetooth and connectivity issues among others just like any other smartphones. The report says it’s due to launch around the same time, or soon after, the Pixel 2, but also notes that it’s still in prototype stage and might never see the light of day.
The March 2017 update is available for the Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, the LTE model of the Nexus 9, and, surprisingly, the Nexus 6.
A source told 9to5Google, “You should interpret “Budget Pixel” as a device that is being developed by the same team working on the Pixel 2, that is aimed at being released in emerging markets”. The only thing worth pointing out is that it falls perfectly with Osterloh’s statement that the Pixel will stay in the premium realm of smartphone.
The “Read messages” feature can be surfaced through a variety of prompts, including “Show me my messages” and “Do I have any messages?“, Google Corporate said Tuesday.
Most people saw the move as an attempt to make the Pixel phones more attractive over the multitude of options on the market today, everything from iPhones to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and beyond.
2017 is going to be another exciting year when it comes to smartphones, and you can see all of the major players not giving a single inch of elbow room to their competitors. For now, the update is being rolled out to Nexus and Pixel devices.
Rumors are rife that the latest Google smartphone may come with waterproofing certification and an improved camera module.
