The Miami Heat have their longest winning streak since LeBron James left for Cleveland and can extend that to five straight victories with a win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.
Rockets Dwight Howard has been suspended for one game for swiping a referee’s hand during Saturday night’s loss to the Washington Wizards.
With 8:08 remaining in the fourth quarter of the loss, Howard got tangled up with Wizards big man Nene under the basket.
Howard’s frustration has clearly been on the rise of late, as he now leads the league with 12 technical fouls and was sent to the locker room early in two recent games as a result of the double-technical-ejection rule. Dwight will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, meaning that he can leave Houston and sign a new contract with any other team.
After the game, Bickerstaff blasted National Basketball Association officials, saying they routinely fail to call “dirty” play against Howard. They allowed people to hit him, they allowed people to grab his neck, grab his arms, and hold his shoulders.
The frontcourt stalwart previously received a one-game suspension during last year’s playoffs for going over the limit for flagrant-foul points, which forced him to miss the 2015-16 season opener.
