Heat’s Chris Bosh says more exams coming on his injured calf

Bosh pulled out of the All-Star Game due to what was described as a calf problem.

“I am honored to be selected to participate in All-Star Weekend festivities and will still be here to support my fellow East All-Stars”, Bosh said in a statement released through the Heat.

Bosh’s agent told The Miami Herald that it was too soon to call it a blood clots issue. But a source said the concern is that he might have a blood clot in his calf.

Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is dealing with another blood-clot scare, making this the second consecutive year that he’s spent the All-Star break facing a most uncertain future because of a health issue.

While the injury has been classified as a strain for now, it has been lingering for a while and Bosh will have his calf examined when he returns to Miami, which could be as early as Monday.

“(It’s) too soon for all of that….

The Heat did not comment Monday about Bosh’s condition.

The Heat forward would be out indefinitely if he has another blood clot. Prior to the 2000-01 season franchise center Alonzo Mourning was diagnosed with the kidney disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, which caused him to miss the first five months of that year.

“As an athlete, we try to keep going with some things, treating it”, Bosh said Saturday.

One can only hope that Bosh isn’t going through a blood clots ailment again as it would go beyond the game of basketball at this point. “But it just lingered”.

Bosh leads the Heat in scoring this season, averaging 19.1 points per game.

Heat guard Dwyane Wade told Reynolds that Bosh’s health is more important than basketball.

“When we get back to Miami we’ll do everything we need to do to make sure it’s right”, Bosh said.

Wade doesn't need everyone to love him just Miami
