After three years of rolling out one flagship phone per year, OnePlus chose to make this year a twofer. Running up to the launch, the OnePlus 3(Reviw) smartphone was continually out of stock in the United States, and many started speculating that OnePlus has discontinued the OnePlus 3 for good, to make way for the OnePlus 3T.
The smartphone is going to start selling from November 22, and give a considerable amount of fight to those who are priced higher and possess almost the same hardware. Even if you are thinking of upgrading your OnePlus 3, you will have to pay $339 for 64 GB version.
The OnePlus 3T starts at $439 (roughly Rs 29,782) for the 64GB version, while the high-end 128GB Gunmetal variant will cost buyers $479 (roughly Rs 32,495).
OnePlus 3 was running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow while the newer version sports Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. First off, as rumored ad nauseam the 3T is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821, replacing the SD820 in the older OnePlus handset. This is complemented by 6GB of RAM, in line with previous rumours. Both will feature 6GB of RAM, but 3T will come with a storage option of 64GB to 128GB. The original reports after the unveiling of the OnePlus 3T stated that the original model was not being discontinued, and would be back in stock shortly. It boasts features like Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). There’s Auto HDR, Panorama, Time Lapse, and manual controls in the camera app.
The camera department will be upgraded as well.
Among other specifications, the 3T comes with 16MP rear camera with Enhanced Image Stabiliser (EIS) as well as another front camera of the same pixel size and resolution. Once OnePlus has announced the device and all of that information, we will be sure to update you.
Connectivity options of the OnePlus 3T include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS, Glonass and 4G LTE. Obviously, the smartphone supports dual-SIM functionality.
The device is backed by a slightly larger 3,400mAh battery with support for the company’s proprietary Dash Charge technology.
Based on the enhanced features, I can say that the new model will also get huge response in global markets including India whenever the same is introduced here.
