Hideo Kojima reveals plans for next game

We have no idea what the first game from Kojima Productions will be, other than it is “console exclusive to PlayStation 4 System” and will be made in collaboration with Sony’s video game arm.

In a press release, Sony’s Andrew House said: “PlayStation’s history is one of game innovation and great new franchises”.

His contract officially terminated by Konami, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima just announced his new, independent studio, Kojima Productions, which is partnering with Sony to create its first project.

It is now official that Hideo Kojima is forming a new studio and his first title will blast off on the PS4. This is very good news for those wanting future games from Kojima ever since the whole Konami controversy.

Hideo Kojima’s next project will be a PS4 exclusive, as a result of partnership between Kojima Productions and Sony Computer Entertainment.

“I’m happy to let you know that I have established my own independent studio today”, Kojima said. Up until the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, all Metal Gear Solid games were available only on PlayStation platforms. This followed a year that saw a cancelled game, Konami removing Kojima’s name from the Metal Gear Solid box art, and the company barring him from attending the Video Game Awards earlier this month. Although it will be a while before we hear about what Kojima Productions has in-store, it goes without saying that this is a significant turn of events.
