The Prime Minister was speaking at the joint session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council, in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day here Friday. On Kashmir, the panel recommended that Pakistan continue calling for resolution of the dispute as the core issue between the two countries.
“They are struggling for the just and genuine demand of right to self-determination for their nation and this factor has been present in every freedom movement of the world including that in India itself”, he said.
Ties between India and its neighbour Pakistan have recently witnessed many ups and downs, especially in wake of India’s decision to engage in a Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue with Pakistan as well as the Patahnakot terror attack.
He underlined that wars were not solution to the problems, adding that Pakistan was a peaceful nation and wanted good relations with all its neighbors. Pakistan reminds the worldwide community of its responsibilities in the matter and urges it to fulfill its promise made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir 68 years ago.
Mushahid Hussain further said that Pakistan never said Kashmir was its integral part but called it a disputed territory while India was continually declaring it as its integral part. “Until then peace in the region will remain an elusive dream”, he said.
He said the valiant Kashmiris have rendered unmatched sacrifices in their just struggle.
Lauding the role of people of Kashmir, Syed Salahuddin said that despite using all available resources India failed to break their resolve.
Rallies took out across AJK, including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimbher, Rawalakot, Bagh, Palandri, Haveili, Hattiyan and Neelam Valley to express solidarity with their oppressed brethren of Indian Held Kashmir.
” During the meetings with Indian leadership we stressed up on them to settle the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through meaningful dialogue”, PM Sharif said.
