Houston Texans release veteran RB Arian Foster

March 03 20:08 2016

But cutting Foster does save Houston $6.625 million against the salary cap.

The Texans released Foster, the franchise’s career rushing leader.

Foster, who will turn 30 before the 2016 season starts may not be a starting running back anymore, but could provide a team with quality depth if he stays healthy and should have no trouble finding a team that wants him.

The Houston Texans have released RB Arian Foster, TE Garrett Graham and S Rahim Moore.

While the Texans are now looking to add a running back to their roster, Foster becomes a free agent that should draw interest on the open market. Without a doubt, the Colts won’t be sad to see Foster leaving the Texans and would be totally fine if he left the AFC South, as he has absolutely shredded the Colts defense whenever he faces them. He hasn’t played a full 16-game season since 2012 and missed 12 games this past season with a torn Achilles that he suffered early on after making a major comeback from the last injury in the 2014 season. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors and hopefully he is able to continue his football career. He underwent microscopic lumbar discectomy surgery, which prematurely ended his 2013 season after just eight games. Graham finished his five season with the Texans with 100 receptions, 1,059 and 10 touchdowns.

The 29-year-old was drafted out of the University of Wisconsin in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
