The price hike is between 3000 to 20,000 and is applicable across all models in the company’s stable starting from the entry-level Eon, going up to the range-topping Santa Fe SUV.
The impact of rupee depreciation and the rising input costs are the major causes for this price hike by Hyundai. This price rise comes close to the heels of the fixed Q3 price revision of the Hyundai that happens each and every year, depending upon the input and manufacturing costs. “Now, we have been compelled to increase prices”, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Senior Vice-President (sales & marketing) Rakesh Srivastava said. “We will be increasing the prices from August 16, 2016 by Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 20,000 across models”. Hyundai India exports cars to 92 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific. The vehicle is based on the SX+ variant of the petrol and diesel versions.
With more than 125,000 happy customers worldwide within a year of its launch, the company aims to serve more consumers through the new variants.
The company sells a range of models starting from hatchback Alto 800 to premium crossover S-Cross, priced Rs 2.45 lakh to Rs 12.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Celebrating its first anniversary, the Korean carmaker’s compact SUV Creta is still selling strong.
