IBM’s Watson to make analytics elementary for HR, supply chain professionals

When asked if IBM would ever consider breaking out specific Watson-related figures, Rometty said Watson is in several things, including a current beta-stage testing for cybersecurity. On-site demonstrations include Esri’s technology integration with data from The Weather Company, Watson Analytics, IBM Bluemix, and Spark.

During this week’s World of Watson conference, IBM unveiled a new Watson Data Platform and made available the Watson Machine Learning Service, among a host of other announcements.

He noted that Watson is one of the main strengths of IBM these days, adding, “Now IBM is offering a product with the Watson name that could potentially be used by millions of knowledge workers around the globe”.

IBM put “significant advances” into its database software DB2, helping companies lower their operating costs while bringing together transactions and analytics in the same database to increase the speed of real-time data analysis.
