In the second one, South Africa, who lost the One-Day International (ODI) series 1-5, kept the T20I series alive by registering a six-wicket victory at Centurion. The 1-2 series defeat at the hands of the Indian team resulted in the Proteas losing one rating point.
The stage is set for an epic battle as India and South Africa had won the first and second matches respectively quite dominatingly.
India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar celebrates after taking the wicket of Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Munaweera.
Choosing to bowl first, South Africa got their first breakthrough on the ninth ball of the match as India stand-in captain Rohit Sharma was trapped lbw off the bowling of Junior Dala for 11.
Farhaan Behardien (15*) also joined the action, but it was a little too late as the Proteas were caught seven runs short.

“I think when India wins, everything looks nice”. The team had not reached half the target though more than half the overs had been bowled.
Notably, he had hit a match-winning 63 against England in February that year before surprisingly facing the axe.
Suresh Raina took a while getting back into the Indian team. Rohit Sharma managed a single impressive innings, a century in the fifth one-day worldwide after Kohli was out for 36, his lowest score of the series. India won the match by seven runs.

A good run in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy (314 runs from nine matches) paved way for his return to the T20I side. With a flurry of boundaries, he and Dhawan took India to 57/1 in the first six overs and their 50-partnership came off 37 balls. He is also looking in great touch and can be very harmful for the opponents.
With the run rate creeping up, #South Africa needed some power hitting to survive in the game, and it was none other than skipper Duminy who took charge of the Proteas innings, smashing Axar Patel for 16 runs in his first over. However, they bounced back in the third Test in Johannesburg, to end the Test series 1-2. An in-form Reeza Hendricks was done by a knuckleball from Bhuvneshwar.

A slow start – South Africa were 25 for 1 after the Powerplay and 52 for 2 after 10 overs – on top of a clumsy fielding effort left South Africa so close, yet so far from the win that would answered some of the questions about their depth and their ability to handle pressure. He smashed 3 fours and 7 huge sixes in his inning.
