It will come in front-wheel drive only, and it will share its ride height and equipment with the Q30 that’s still being marketed overseas. The QX30 AWD, however, is the only one of the three “crossovers” to be lifted up and dressed much like an SUV. The model hasn’t gotten the boot, it’s how the thing is now sold that’s different. Among its competitors are the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
The last detail revealed in the latest Infiniti press release is that the US and Canadian QX30 will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 208 horsepower and an automatic transmission. According to the company’s officials, the starting price will be somewhere around $30,000.
Infiniti today announced the line-up of its all-new QX30 premium active crossover for the United States and Canada. In the Americas, this model will be front-wheel drive. The second QX30S version has a lower stance, a more aggressive front and rear fascia, cross-drilled front brake rotors, 19-inch wheels and performance tires. It was shown at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and is sold in other markets as the Q30S. Finally, the Infiniti QX30 AWD will sit the highest off of the ground and will feature intelligent all-wheel drive to handle harsh winters and wet summers.
The QX30 lineup will hit Infiniti dealers in the US and Canada in the middle of 2016. We got our first look at the concept version in March 2015, prior to its official unveiling at April’s NY auto show.
