Known as Danny Rand, the supernaturally enhanced hero wields the mystical force known as the Iron Fist. Aside from Scott Buck being named showrunner, details about “Iron Fist” have been few and far between.
Has Marvel cast the lead in Netflix‘s “Iron Fist?“.
The report that Finn Jones landed the role supposedly comes from the same source that first broke the news of Natalia Cordova-Buckley playing Slingshot on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was recently confirmed by Marvel. So for now, this pretty much just qualifies as a rumor, until Marvel and Netflix officially confirm it themselves. Given that season five of “Game of Thrones” ended with Loras imprisoned by the religious order known as the Sparrows, Jones’s availability for another show potentially bodes ill for the character’s future.
The series is based on the Marvel comic of the same name.
Iron Fist was created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane during Marvel’s martial arts craze in the ’70s.
Daredevil Season 2 premieres on Netflix on March 18. Even though Luke Cage was already going forward, Jessica Jones operated as a backdoor pilot of sorts for the character and now he already has his fans before his series even begins.
The official synopsis for the show reads: “Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist“.

A release date for Iron Fist is now unknown, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it debut sometime in 2017.
