Walla added that Israel accuses the Palestinian Authority of supporting these donations, in midst of PA calling on IOF not to continue collective punishments and demolitions, as they “increase tensions”.
Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom has called for an independent probe into whether Israel has carried out extrajudicial killings of Palestinians, pointing to the number of attackers and suspected attackers shot dead. Some 142 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, of whom 99 are said by Israel to have been attackers. “It’s just Margot Wallstrom”, Emmanuel Nahshon told the Swedish news agency TT.
“It is essential that thorough and credible investigations be conducted concerning these deaths with the aim of providing clarity and bringing about possible accountability”, she told Sweden’s parliament. He reiterated this criticism in a meeting with foreign journalists on Thursday, dubbing Wallstrom’s comments “outrageous, immoral and stupid”.
In the same time 151 Palestinians have been killed, majority while carrying out attacks on Israeli civilians or security forces. “It seems she expects Israel’s citizens to bare their throats to those trying to stab them”, Netanyahu said in comments to his cabinet that were broadcast on Israeli television. “Does the Swedish foreign minister suggest that there be examinations of what happened there in Paris”, he asked. In February 2015, Sweden became the first Western European country to open a Palestinian diplomatic mission. “We’re not interested in hosting them here”, Sela said before clarifying later that only the Foreign Minister and her deputy will be banned from visiting Israel.
The violence since October, with nearly daily stabbings, shootings and other attacks by Palestinians targeting Israelis, has been fueled in part by Palestinian frustration at failed statehood talks and a dispute over a Jerusalem holy site, with Muslims angered by perceived Jewish encroachment. Exactly what that will mean in practice isnt clear.
Since then, Wallström has made a number of controversial statements relating to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Sweden recognized “Palestine” as a state on October 30, 2014.
