Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is expected to miss the FA Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur due to groin surgery, but the club are confident it is a minor problem.
Vardy, the league’s joint top scorer on 15 goals alongside Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, revealed that illness had contributed to his failure to score in Leicester’s last four league games. “We tried to do our best and tonight it wasn’t possible but I’m so pleased with our performance so far”, he told Sky Sports television.
Claudio Ranieri is ready to rest Jamie Vardy and hopes Leicester’s title rivals suffer a burn-out.

“I would encourage him to stay, but it’s not for me to do that”, said Pearson, who signed Vardy from Fleetwood Town for £1m in 2012.
The 28-year-old’s exploits in front of goal have inevitably led to speculation surrounding his future, with Chelsea and Real Madrid reported to be interested in signing him. “We created chances at Liverpool, chances against Manchester City and chances against Bournemouth”.
The Foxes managed just two shots on target, though, the most clear-cut of which was Riyad Mahrez’s second-half penalty, with Artur Boruc guessing the right way to deny the Algeria worldwide.
I think what is important to look at that league table now is we have played everyone once and there is no unknown teams and we all know where we sit compared to everyone else.
“I spoke to Tom in the last few days and he seems quite happy so we’ll try and get that done”.
