Jimmy Carter picks Donald Trump, sort of

Trump’s press secretary, Hope Hicks, says the fire marshal made the estimate, the Mail reports, but an unnamed sheriff’s deputy tells the news outlet there was no official crowd-count.

Minutes before the billionaire Republican presidential candidate arrived on stage – almost two hours late – the general manager of the state fair told the crowd that they had set a record.

When asked about the US presidential race, Carter said, “I think I would choose Trump … the reason is Trump has proven already that he’s completely malleable”.

“I’m not really a Trump supporter, although I haven’t entirely ruled him out so i wanted to come listen to him”, said rally attendee Kimbrou Stephens, “One of the things that I got out of this is that he’s the “get-r-done” guy”.

“Ted Cruz is not malleable”.

In his response, he explained that Cruz has far right-wing policies that he would pursue if he makes it to the White House.

“I’m going to pay to air Jimmy Carter attacking me”, Cruz said to a crowd of several hundred in Nashua, N.H. On Wednesday, Trump accused Cruz of stealing a win in the Iowa caucuses. I mean do you think that that is something that’s acceptable? “He is someone I could see is my commander-in-chief rather than some of the other candidates”.

Carter’s comments have even become a part of Cruz’s argument against Trump on the campaign trail. “At no point did the network indicate Dr. Carson would suspend his campaign”, said CNN.
