Kevin Durant claims hard work, not overall talent, brought Warriors title

Golden State was the odds on favorite to win the title and proved the odds makers right. Kevin Durant traded in his Oklahoma City Thunder jersey for a Golden State Warriors uniform which unsettled a few pundits, namely Stephen A. Smith.

It also created lofty expectations for Durant, with many onlookers saying his move would be a failure if the Warriors did not go on to win a title in their first season together.

Kerr, 51, missed 11 playoff games after stepping away before Game 3 of the first round to seek an answer to his chronic pain. But he was only 2 of 9 on 3-pointers.

LeBron James has now lost five Finals in eight appearances – only the fourth player to come up short in five NBA Finals.

There will be people this offseason that try to claim that LeBron didn’t do enough for his team, that now that he’s 3-5 for his career in The Finals, and that he will never be as great as Jordan.

The Warriors can pass the ball around really well.

“Because I knew he wanted it”, Wanda Durant responded. LeBron averaged a triple-double in the Finals yet Cleveland took just one game because the Warriors, with Durant leading the charge, were simply that much better.

But in the end, the 32-year old couldn’t corral back-to-back championships.

“I ain’t got nothin’ to say”, Durant said, trophy in hand.

“I do know me and KD had a conversation along with Draymond and Klay and Andre past year before he even showed up that that was kind of the identity of who we are as a team that we understand how important it is, the guys that are here”, Curry said.
