They will all have a team ranked in college basketball’s top 10 when the AP and Coaches polls are released this week.

This is a team that has many pieces.

Each team showcased a signature win on the national stage.

It all began with a primetime showdown that didn’t disappoint. The Jayhawks won 109-106 in a triple overtime shootout.

Buddy Hield scored 17 points, Jordan Woodard had 13 and Ryan Spangler added 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Sooners (15-1, 4-1 Big 12). It was a game that certainly looked like Hield would be the Wooden Award victor.

Teammate Venky Jois scored 21 points on 10-for-12 shooting.

Buddy Hield scored 17 points and ex-Gonzaga player Ryan Spangler added 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Sooners (15-1 overall, 4-1 Big 12). Oklahoma proved that it has some of its own. Hield shined, but so did fellow guard Jordan Woodard. The Sooners were 27 for 32. The powerful senior garnered a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Pepperdine 98, USF 84: Lamond Murray Jr. scored 29 points and hauled in nine rebounds to lead the Waves (11-7, 4-3 West Coast Conference) to a win over the host Dons (9-9, 3-5). WVU has forced 14 or more turnovers in every game this season.

The game largely turned into a free-throw contest down the stretch with the teams combining for 47 fouls and 54 free throws.

The Mountaineers took full advantage of their athleticism. They have earned the right to be in the Big 12’s elite group of teams. But West Virginia did a tremendous job not allowing Hield to completely take over the game and make its case as one of the Big 12’s elite.

The final seconds of close basketball games are often mayhem.

It wasn’t enough as the Sooners got the final basket to secure a 70-68 win over the visiting Mountaineers.

Press Virginia played their game and were effective early in the game.

Diamond Stone scored 15 points for the Terrapins (16-2, 5-1), who moved on from a defeat at MI by reaching the 100-point mark for the first time since 2012. “It doesn’t do much good to get to the free throw line and not make them”.

“The best way to keep him from scoring is not letting him have the ball”, WVU head coach Bob Huggins said.

They visit both Iowa State and Baylor next week and have games against LSU and Kansas left prior to the rematch with the Mountaineers.

No. 6 VILLANOVA 55, GEORGETOWN 50: In Washington, Josh Hart had 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Wildcats (16-2, 6-0) seized their 21st consecutive Big East victory. After this week, they solidified that they are worthy of a top ten ranking. Despite a couple of bad losses, these teams are contributing to the Big 12’s strength as a conference.

Oklahoma, which has now played in five conference games with an average margin of less than five points, again found a way to pull out a victory. The Sooners play at No. 17 Iowa State on Monday. IL (9-9, 1-4) lost for the fourth time in five games.

Wayne Selden Jr. scored 11 points, Carlton Bragg and Cheick Diallo provided a boost off the bench, and No. 1 Kansas slogged past TCU 70-63 on Saturday. The Sooners led 65-58 with 4:32 remaining before West Virginia rallied. Whether it was via a layup, hook, or simple jumper, West Virginia tussled with OU in the paint with authority. They finished the game shooting 44% (25-57), which is significantly better than their 33% outing against Kansas.
