LeBron James Stars In Virtual Reality Experience For Samsung

December 28 00:00 2015

Of the very few actual working and commercially available virtual reality headsets in the market today, the Gear VR, Samsung’s and Oculus’ baby, is probably the most notable. Although it is not a device and cannot be used independently on its own, it is more suitable as an accessory dock for the current generation smartphone and offers the most solid base for giving a fantastic VR experience.

Check out this virtual reality 360° Virtual Video documentary of 12 minutes in the life of legendary Lebron James. And perhaps more importantly for James, the latest move cements his position as more than a star athlete – he’s becoming a lifestyle and tech brand as well.

Striving for Greatness is an immersive 360° virtual reality film that invites you to follow Lebron as he trains for his journey to greatness”, reads Samsung’s description. It gives a first person perspective into how an athlete’s spends his or her (his, since this is, after all, LeBron) day training and totally focused on the work at hand.

Viewers can download the VR video in the Oculus Store and on Samsung Milk VR and watch using Samsung’s Gear VR, the $99 headset launched last month.

In the same vein as the recent training video released by the NFL’s very own New England Patriots, the NBA-centric footage provides a behind-the-scenes look at how James trains to keep his, “God-given talent”, (his words, not ours) in peak condition for the rigors of professional basketball. For the rest of us who don’t, here’s a condensed one-minute ad that has nearly nothing to do directly with Striving for Greatness.
