Reporter John Barr from ESPN’s Outside The Lines program said Tuesday that McCoy has hired Jack McMahon of Philadelphia to represent his interests. During the ensuing altercation, according to the report, Butler was knocked to the ground and “punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times”.
The Bills released a statement yesterday, saying they’re aware of the incident and are awaiting further details, while reports suggest an arrest warrant for LeSean McCoy is all but an inevitability. Complainant#2 and security guards intervened and broke up the attack and all parties were ejected from the club.
One of the officers was treated at a local hospital for a laceration to his right eye, broken nose, broken ribs, and a sprained thumb, according to the police report. McCoy and three others allegedly assaulted three off-duty police officers during an argument over champagne.
Porter tried to take the bottle of champagne from Butler, and pushing and shoving ensued. I think at this juncture, I don’t want to make any comment on the case. Police say outside surveillance video showed the ejection from the club, but surveillance cameras inside the club were not working. Complainant#2, was admitted to the Hospital where he received eight stitches over his left eye and is now receiving treatment for a possible skull fracture.
McCoy played his first six seasons with the Eagles before coach Chip Kelly traded him to Buffalo. Action News has learned that one member of the group is a former NFL player, another is a former college football player with the University of Pittsburgh, where McCoy also played.
As for any thought that McCoy might have just been a witness to his friends allegedly beating up two cops, the report goes on to say that McCoy was “definitely involved” in the incident. McCoy’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has thus far refused comment.
