According to display industry sources on January 2, foreign news reports said that Apple will be buying OLED display panels for future iPhones from Samsung or LG.

LG has already talked about similar technology past year as a proof of concept, but up until now, the company has kept it behind the curtain.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual for LG with further developments of screens which are larger and thinner than any seen before.

The company is reportedly working displays that could roll up into your pockets or being made to wrap around interior spaces. LG Display, the division working on R & D related to the screen technologies would be showcasing how this technology would work.

The concept of curved displays is nothing that we’ve only heard from LG Display though. The company envisions that its flexible, bendable OLED technology will be used in future smartphones, tablets and TVs.

LG will also have a separate zone for its work in the automotive display market, which will include a 25-inch “waterfall” curved LCD display for cars. As well as a 10.3-inch Advanced In-Cell Touch LCD, which can even respond through the gloves that driver would be wearing.

In related news, the Korean brand would be showcasing its recently launched 4K TVs, the 65 and 77-inch sizes as well its first 8K Television model named UH9800. The tech company will show off its new gadgets at the CES this week, so be prepared to be amazed.
