After Ebron was injured, the Lions shifted the practice that simulated game situations to the other end of the field.
Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron suffered a leg injury during practice Saturday. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said on Inside Training Camp Live that the early world is that Ebron suffered an Achilles injury.
The bigger concern likely relates to Ebron’s growth as a player, but as long as his injury isn’t a long-term issue, he should be able to pick up where he left off.
This could be a tough blow for the Lions, who are already without tight end Brandon Pettigrew as he recovers from a torn ACL.
Ebron, the No. 10 pick in the 2014 National Football League draft, played in 14 games last season, including eight starts, making 47 receptions for 537 yards and five touchdowns.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report Ebron’s injury. “I don’t know what exactly is going on right now, but I pray it’s nothing serious”.
“You never want to see somebody in your room go down, period, anybody in the organization”, Charles said. “Anytime you see one of your guys go down, especially a guy you’re so close with – because we’re in the same room – it’s very bad”.
“For him it’s frustrating”, said linebacker Kyle Van Noy, another disappointing member of that 2014 class who has dealt with injury. “Hopefully he’s back and ready to go and he’s in good shape”. He showed up immature and ill-prepared for his rookie season, and caught just 25 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown. He’s young. People forget that.
