Lousy Jets Looking to Spoil Surprising Dolphins

December 19 09:54 2016

Why watch: The Dolphins are making a push into the playoffs while the Jets are getting into position for a high pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Denver (8-6) loses one game (at Kansas City next week or Oakland at home in the finale).

The Jets are not a powerful offensive team and will be starting inexperienced Bryce Petty at quarterback. The most important trait that Moore will need to possess is the patience it takes to play for 60 minutes and being a difference maker doesn’t necessarily mean he needs to be the difference between winning and losing.

Offensive standouts for the Jets Saturday night include running backs Bilal Powell (16 rushes for 84 yards and 11 receptions for 78 yards) and Matt Forte (4 rushes for 21 yards), along with wide receivers Robby Anderson (4 receptions for 80 yards, 1 TD) and Quincy Enunwa (5 receptions for 64 yards).

“I think when you have a player of his ability that has played as long as he has, he has that knack for timing”, Gase said. That should give Moore a chance to see what kind of chemistry he has with weapons like wideouts Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills.

Miami’s defense is built around its defensive front, but the second and third levels made plays, too.

Wake did it again two possessions later, when he made his first career interception.

Those plays set up Moore’s flawless pass to Stills behind rookie cornerback Justin Burris for a 13-7 lead.

Miami marched to first-and-goal at the Jets 1 early in the second quarter but the Jets’ goal-line defense appeared to stone the Dolphins on three plays. Now, the quarterback is trying to keep the Dolphins in the playoff hunt.

The Dolphins’ first touchdown drive covered 52 yards in eight plays. He has thrown just 5 passes this season. In his last two starts, Petty has managed to connect with Marshall for only four catches and 49 yards.

Penalties – This continues to be an issue for the Dolphins, who were penalized nine times in the games for 70 yards. I just have to hit him.

NBC analyst Rodney Harrison mentioned during the telecast that the Dolphins coaching staff identified the veteran as the best deep passer they’ve ever been around.

Maybe we were wrong to question their effort and foolish to ponder whether they had quit on their head coach. “I know coming in a lot of people slated me out and didn’t have a lot of faith in me, but that’s just motivation for me”. That’s the sucky part of it, but the good part of it is, we’re going to make those plays.
