Mads Mikkelsen Reveals Star Wars: Rogue One Character Spoiler

As of now, the only new character name we know is Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, the young woman recruited by the Rebel Alliance to lead a mission to obtain the plans to the Death Star.

“Rogue One, let’s do that one, and I can say absolutely nothing about it”, Mikkelsen told the interviewer at first. But fortunately for excitable Star Wars fans, today is one of those days. And while we still don’t know the name of Mads Mikkelsen’s character, who was also absent from the “Rogue One” trailer, we now know who he is. However, it doesn’t seem like we’ve seen his character on screen yet, unless he’s the mysterious hooded figure we see in the trailer. – That was too much. “I read the script and it was very attractive”, Mikkelsen continued.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to open in United Kingdom and USA cinemas on December 16, 2016. Normally that wouldn’t be a huge detail, but it actually lines up with a previous rumor claiming the actor actually plays an enormous part in the creation of the Death Star.

Nevertheless, the host attempted to squeeze a little more out of him, asking that he confirm the long-running rumor that Darth Vader would appear (he will, though it’s not yet “official”). “I wasn’t sure if I was wearing a stormtrooper outfit or anything at that point”, Mikkelsen replied, referring to the fact that plenty of famous movie stars have made guest appearances and cameos from under some stormtrooper armor (Daniel Craig, for one).
