Man ‘stole sex toys after proposing to girlfriend over supermarket tannoy system’

Police say a suspected shoplifter who pulled out a gun inside a Wal-Mart and shot himself after being confronted by police officers has died.

Both him and Moore were released on bond this week and are due back in court at the end of the month.

The unfortunate end to the story (and I encourage you to cover your eyes if you have a sensitive and romantic heart) is that, with a fun night ahead of him, Cornelius passed out in the food court of the mall while he was tying his shoe, because he was on pain reliever Tramadol.

Officers would find the sex toys on Cornelius after searching him, police said.

Their haul included a “Bride-to-be” thong, “BJ Blast” oral sex candy and a $14.99 vibrator. Cornelius reportedly admitted to stealing the items, saying that he pilfered the goods for his fiancée, adding that he had just proposed to Moore at Walmart.

Google Cornelius also bought a $29 engagement ring at the bix box store and asked store employees to pop the question over the loudspeaker system. After she said yes, employees and shoppers cheered and congratulated them.

Deputies responding to a theft call subsequently collared Cornelius (pictured at left) and Moore inside the mall.

The 20-year-old woman has yet to be arraigned on charges. Moore subsequently told cops that Cornelius had stolen the jewelry. You know what they say, third-degree retail fraud may be punishable by up to 93 days in jail, but love lasts forever.

Cornelius’ fiancée was arrested nearby while “walking between Bob Evans and Taco Bell”, MLive says, and was in possession of stolen Walmart earrings and a necklace that a surveillance video appears to show her putting in her purse.
