Louis van Gaal has slammed the West Ham fans who attacked Manchester United’s bus prior to Tuesday night’s kick-off, though it is not the first time he’s been involved in such an incident.

West Ham will have the most season ticket holders of any London club in the Barclays Premier League next season when they move into the Olympic Park.

The Frenchman was recently given a rest by Van Gaal, when he was left out of the starting lineup for United’s home game against Aston Villa on April 16, then came on as a late substitute.

“The boys have just seen what’s happening outside the ground but hopefully once you get out onto the pitch the football takes care of itself”.

West Ham fans are saying goodbye to the Boleyn ground tonight, and rival fans are also waving goodbye to the stadium.

Captain Wayne Rooney said the coach “got smashed up” on the way into the ground.

The Hammers were beaten convincingly by Swansea City at the weekend but they remain highly motivated, given that this Premier League match is their last competitive fixture at Upton Park. Many fans will not be able to stay for that.

West ham Chairman David Sullivan was interviewed on Sky before te game, and his comments did not go down too well.

“I think in the next five years, West Ham are going to be in the top four or five every year, I think”, said the former West Ham defender. I think the images shall tell everything, because I have seen that the police were also taping.

“I’m gravely disappointed, more for our supporters”. It is better than last time because we have received our preparation time.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that one officer and a member of the public sustained minor injuries in the trouble. “I’d make them kick off at 7.45pm if I was in charge”.
