Women’s March wrote on its website that the protestors will march for those who cannot attend or give up caring for children.
On March 8, 1917, a Women’s Day demonstration sparked the Russian Revolution and the day was eventually declared as national holiday in Russia in 1965. The US event will piggyback on the International Women’s Strike, said to be planned by women in 30 different countries.
Women in more than 50 countries around the world will also protest on March 8. Because women spend each day being fearless, breaking stereotypes, managing expectations and building dreams.
