Mariah Carey Engaged? She’s Spotted Wearing Sparkly Ring

She’s been flaunting her romance with James Packer for months now.

The casino mogul emerged from his private jet after flying to New South Wales from Melbourne, where he saw in the new year with girlfriend Mariah at his lavish Crown resort. News earlier this year that Mariah moved in with James and “they have been speaking about marriage as well”.

Carey is in Melbourne for her New Year’s Eve performance at the Crown. It’s already 2016 in Australia, so Happy New Year to those who have just celebrated!

Among the crowd were James, his mum, Ros, and Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop.

Also attending the event was James’ mum, Roslyn.

After ringing in the New Year, Mariah, James and the twins will be visiting members of each other’s families in Melbourne, Sydney and Ellerston.

She was seen flashing a sparkling ring on her left hand during an appearance at Packer’s Crown Casino in Melbourne, prompting speculation the couple is planning to tie the knot. She sported a plunging black dress and brown sunglasses with her hair straightened.

But close inspection reveals it looks far more likely to be the mother-of-two’s favourite butterfly ring rather than any new diamond encrusted addition.

One of the We Belong Together singer’s fan pages soon posted that the ring was indeed the butterfly ring and wrote on Facebook: “Mariah Carey‘s butterfly ring is NOT an engagement ring”.
