On the contrary. Mariah Carey crushed her New Year’s Eve performance as only Mariah Carey can.
“We didn’t have a check for this song, so let’s just say, it went to number one”, she told the audience as she stood at the end of the stage, her hands on her hips.
So far Mariah has not made any additional comments about her New Year’s Eve performance.
Carey walked off during the New Year Eve telecast on ABC channel after the wrong lip-synced track was played during her show.
Apparently working on the theory that bad publicity is better than no publicity at all, Carey used social media to say: “Shit happens”. She said no more of the incident, but she admitted that she’s expecting to make more headlines this year.
She soon gave up on that song too, telling her dancers to “bring the feathers” as the tune ended.
Bruce Rosenberg: “ISIS just took responsibility for Mariah Carey’s performance”.
MC was then heard speaking over her singing voice. At some point of the performance, she just kept walking around the stage because she claimed she could not hear the song.
If you were living under a rock, Mariah sang “Auld Lang Syne” smoothly until her lips were not in sync with the audio, but it’s okay as she finished strong.
Dick Clark Productions, which produced the live show, responded to Carey’s claims. This is by no means a representation of her talent, because for the last few months we’ve all been trying to imitate the singer with her “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
A third joked: “Even Milli Vanilli is embarrassed by Mariah Carey’s debacle”. But she’s incredulous, saying she did Dick Clark Productions a favor after they begged for her to sing, and she did it for free.
