McCoy rallies Bills to 28-21 win over Jaguars

Defeating the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars has helped the Bills keep pace in a competitive AFC wild-card race, but if Buffalo is going to truly make noise over the final month of the season, it will require offensive stars LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins providing the sort of big-play spark they did in Sunday’s 28-21 win over Jacksonville. This is a prime letdown spot for the Bills, who have the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers on deck.

Buffalo nickel cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman assessed, “It’s a relationship”. “But it’s up to us to make a play rather than leave it up to luck or a bounce or a call”.

And that’s what Jacksonville showed. Fact is. the Jags might have won had he not left with an injury (9 carries, 44 yards) during their second possession, not to return. In receiving, Ivory had 75 yards in six catches while Marqise Lee had 52 yards and a touchdown in four catches.

“I think we’ve had a little bit of Murphy’s Law – if it can go wrong, it will go wrong, and at the most inopportune time, ” Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles said.

This has been a miserable season for the Jaguars (2-8), who have lost five straight and will miss the postseason for the ninth straight year. “I take full responsibility for that”.

“Right now, at this part of the season, a win is a win”, Bills guard Richie Incognito said.

The Bills take this game.

Buffalo travels to Oakland on December 4.

Watkins return will be a huge boost to Tyrod Taylor who has dealt with injury after injury to his wide receivers this year.

Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is expected to play in consecutive games for the first time this season when the Buffalo Bills face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. However, following a touchback, the Bills grabbed the lead on a lovely jaunt by McCoy, giving him a pair of touchdowns and 80 rushing yards on the day.

Yes, I’m aware that Nick O’Leary was wide open at the top of the field and might’ve scored on his own there, but Taylor still made an absolutely flawless throw that only Hunter could make a play on.

McCoy admitted the offense had become desperate. “We’ve got to come out swinging”.

Ryan said the Bills won’t push Watkins too hard during the week and will keep a carefull eye on the number of snaps he gets in the game too.

And the Bills’ defense did, as well. With the way things are shaking out around the conference, even splitting these games might not be enough, even if they win the rest.

“He’s a great player, everybody knows that”. That’s a talented football team.

There had been confusion on the play before the delay-of-game penalty. “But like I said, he did a great job of tracking the ball, which he does very well”. “We didn’t run much on third down other weeks”. “They’re going to take me kicking and screaming out of this place”, he said.

That really hits on Taylor’s biggest limitation as a quarterback.

That’s the beauty of the big play.

All the Bills can do is control how they play and what happens in their own games.

Tate proved him right, fielding the line-drive punt and tight-roping the sideline all the way to Jacksonville’s 27 (an illegal formation on the Jaguars tacked on an extra five yards). “And that’s what we get graded on”.
