Melissa McCarthy Spotted Driving Spicer’s Podium Through NYC

Actress Melissa McCarthy on Friday made an appearance on 58th Street in NY, driving a motorized version of the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s podium.

McCarthy, whose recurring role as Spicer on Saturday Night Live has drawn rave reviews, was with a film crew Friday morning shooting a sketch for SNL. The thing that is probably being forgotten here in the process is just that McCarthy has been amusing every other thing that she’s been on the show as well.

But it’s also clear that SNL intends to keep riding the wave of publicity generated by McCarthy’s first pitch-perfect appearance as Spicer.

McCarthy has become renowned for her impersonation of Donald Trump’s White House press secretary. As a result, “SNL” has continued inviting McCarthy on, most recently for an Easter skit to mock Spicer’s past job duties as the holiday bunny. The video starts with the actress prancing around the studio lip syncing “I Feel Pretty” from West Side Story and sitting down to get her hair and makeup done. Or when you’re in the queue to buy tickets to see your favorite artist in concert, and it isn’t going fast enough?

Before starting on the group of journalists, that included Kristen Stewart, “Spicer” talked about apologising to the reporters.

Now, all that is left is to see just how spicy McCarthy gets on Saturday night.

McCarthy’s impression of Spicer as a high-strung, gum-chomping, belligerent White House spokesman debuted in Feburary and immediately went viral.

The show will air simultaneously on both coasts.
