Following the ceremony near the pavilion, the Yuma Museum Memorial Day Tour will begin, taking residents on a short historical tour of the cemetery while highlighting the contributions and achievements of a half dozen former Yuma residents.

She noted each year has seen an increase in the number of volunteers who help place flags at grave sites of area veterans prior to Memorial Day. Cory Gardner, Maria Secrest will be a guest speaker in this event to honor Weld County veterans. It will go through downtown Union City and end at Riverside Cemetery.

Formerly known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. The parade will move along Main Street to Gougler Avenue.

Boy Scouts will place flags around the cemetery on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The American Legion is sponsoring the annual Memorial Day Parade at noon Monday in Polson. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St.

The Cedar Springs Historical Society will hold its 17 annual Memorial Cemetery Walk on Sunday, May 28, at 2 p.m.to honor veterans of all wars. It will turn north onto Western Avenue, proceeding to River Street and left into the back entrance of Maple Grove Cemetery, where services will be held honoring veterans.

Memorial Day is a very special day for Americans”. Secaucus held its parade on May 20. Refreshments will be served at the American Legion Post 44, 700 W. Bluff St., following the 10:15 a.m. service. Post 433 and the New Providence Community Activities Department have co-sponsored the town’s Memorial Day Parade for more than sixty-five years. Lineup begins at 8:30 a.m., with units asked to enter the Northeast Ohio Medical University campus from the south entrance, next to Key Bank.

When: Deerfield, 9 a.m. and Lakin 9:45 a.m. A joint flag raising ceremony will then be held at the Southington Care Center at 9 a.m.

La Crosse is set for its traditional Memorial Day parade, and surrounding communities are planning observances, too. A memorial service and program will be held at 11 a.m. The parade will make stops for wreath ceremonies at the Korean and Vietnam war memorials and the Town Brook Bridge World War I Memorial.
