Wayne Rooney’s decision to publicly take on Jose Mourinho does not bode well for his Manchester United future.
Mourinho finally lost patience with the former Everton man last week when he dropped Rooney for United’s clashes with Zorya and Stoke City.
In a far-reaching interview, Rooney addressed questions about his deterioration in form, his removal from the United team under Jose Mourinho and the widespread suspicion that, approaching his 31st birthday, he may be suffering from burnout.
As well as insisting he is still wanted at Old Trafford, Rojo also spoke very highly of Mourinho.
As Ander Herrera said: “We can not believe we did not win this game”.
“It’s important with exciting young players that they get the rewards they deserve and I think he deserves it”, Rooney said of Rashford’s return to the senior squad. I can then stay back to steal the ball, to keep the position, and from there initiate attacks.
“I am the same person and I know what I want”.
England great Alan Shearer believes Wayne Rooney still has a huge role to play for club and country.
Most of those names will be familiar to regular readers of Football Gossip but here is the list, anyway.
José Mourinho, the manager of the Manchester United, will have a significant duty in front if him when he faces the Jürgen Klopp’ side on October 18, 2016. Whether he is given room to reinvent himself remains to be seen, but given his youth and considerable ability he looks to be worth another chance in a United shirt.
Blind, who was paired in central defence with Bailly at the start of the season but has since switched to left-back, conceded his team-mate’s lack of English was not ideal. That seems to mean leaving Old Trafford, who will not be sad to lose a £300,000-a-week salary if the recipient is warming a bench.
The 22-year-old winger joined United from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015, but has fallen out of favour, making just three sub appearances in the league this season.
Sporting Lisbon playmaker Gelson Martins has also been watched by United and has been hailed by Sporting coach Jorge Jesus as having no comparison in Portugal.
