Mercedes-Benz teases the not so mysterious E Class sedan

January 04 09:28 2016

This is not your standard model release either, the new E-Class will usher in an all new era in digitalisation – with high-resolution visualisations and animations, touch-sensitive control and also smartphone integration with capacitive aerial coupling and wireless charging. That’s because it was busy launching yet another hint for the launch of the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class scheduled to debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS).

“Emotional design and intelligent high-tech perfectly embody the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy of Sensual Purity”, Mercedes spurts on numerous social media networks today, with the launch of this illustration. That’s one helluva way to kick off the new year, as the E Class is one of the best selling cars to wear a three-pointed star, so it’s very important to the brand. The headlamps constantly provide bright and expansive illumination of the road and the verge without blinding oncoming drivers.

Besides glimmering new LED lights and an advanced infotainment system, a new set of engines is expected to power the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class alongside the introduction of Mercedes’ new nine-speed auto transmission. In effect, it won’t blind any driver on the other side of the road.

The result is that cars equipped with the technology can safely be driven with the high beams left permanently on, though this type of feature is still not allowed in the United States.

We anticipate that at launch the new E-class sedan will be supplied as an E300, a E450 AMG Sport, as well as a Mercedes-AMG E63 S. A diesel and a plug-in hybrid will come later on. This makes parking in tight spaces easier and safer to drive on the expressway.
