Michigan Football Fan Releases “Run This Town” Hype Video

Nebraska has tough road games with the Badgers and Ohio State, while Wisconsin has those two teams at home. They take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in their first Big Ten game of the year.

If Michigan loses to Wisconsin on Saturday, there will be no shortage of people piling on to rub it in. The Badgers achieved that solid mark despite converting just 2 of 5 third-and-short chances (1-3 yards) and failing on both third-and-medium chances (4-7 yards). That’s 39 points per game. “He’s got to be the best player in college football right now”. That number will be challenged in a big way come Saturday.

Harbaugh loves the fact the running backs have produced the first four games – and the fact they have protected the football, too. That ranks fourth in NCAA football. Hey, whadda ya know, Minnesota is averaging 39 points per game during a 3-0 start.

Smith is the true workhorse in the backfield. However, he hasn’t tossed an interception since the opener and averages 12.2 yards per completion. MI has versatility and depth at the position with Ty Isaac also providing production. The yards-per-carry figure is 3.9, the same as Clement’s and 99th.

Wisconsin was a Big Ten mini-dynasty not long ago. His absence is a huge setback to a linebacking corps that already lost Chris Orr for the 2016 season. “They can be very physical and pound the football in the run game, but then they also have the skilled athletes on the outside to through it vertically, throw a quick game”. Wisconsin might keep it close early, but MI will pull away late for a 31-14 victory. MI is a bigger test though and it’s unlikely the Badgers can keep up with the Wolverines ability to put up points.

Should the Badgers make him beat them with his arm consistently, they’ll have opportunity to knock him down and create turnovers. On the other side of the ball, Wisconsin doesn’t have a single member of its secondary taller than 5-foot-11-inches. That will be the more challenging part. And Bucky isn’t doing it against Oswego State; this is the defense that stifled LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Michigan State’s ground attack. The Wolverines have talent and experience on both lines.

Wisconsin will need a solid game plan and even better execution – especially from the running game. The lack of Vince Biegel? Redshirt freshman Zack Baun, Biegel’s likely replacement, is athletic enough to provide a pass-rush threat, but all that really will be needed from Baun is for him to prepare well and do his job. The alternative is punting out of bounds, potentially handing Michigan’s offense a short field. Remember, past year he stepped in at running back because no one else was getting it done. He’s tough. He’s got the size and the strength to be a prototypical type of fullback.

With rain in the forecast for Saturday’s game, Harbaugh isn’t concerned about how it might affect his team’s play.

“He’s very far along at being a good pass-protecting back, which is something that, when you draft guys into the National Football League, when you see good running backs coming in, we’re starting at the beginning here and teaching this youngster how to pass protect”.
