Microsoft is looking to put a ‘little dent’ in Apple’s smartphone business

Unlike some of the past Lumia devices we have seen, Microsoft chooses to go for a more toned down design on the 950 sticking to the basic with a plain black device.

The Lumia lineup is soon to face a rebirth of Windows 10, and Microsoft has first unleashed its Lumia 950 and 950 XL to open the floodgates of the new Windows phone generation.

Microsoft, which bought Finnish telecom Nokia a year ago, has launched two models of Lumia – 950 and 950XL smartphones with Windows 10 – for the Indian consumers.

The pre-booking of the devices has already been started from launching date at Microsoft Priority Resellers, Microsoft Store on Amazon.in and retail chains of Croma, Reliance and Sangeetha.

Capacitive buttons are nowhere in sight, which means that the Microsoft Lumia 850, much like its predecessor, will treat users to onscreen navigation.

Guggenheimer told IANS (via NDTV) that the Lumia lineup has so far ranged from the really low-end to medium to high.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) wants to put “a little dent” in Apple Inc. In Europe, it launched its affordable budget 4G offering called the Lumia 550 that was also showcased at the company’s recent hardware devices event, which focussed on the Surface brand.

Once you update the Gadgets app, plug in the Display Dock to the power outlet, and plug in your phone to the Dock. The USB ports can be used to connect wired or wireless accessories like a mouse and keyboard and with that, you have a PC-like setup powered by nothing more than your phone.

The devices come loaded with the “Continuum” feature which when connected to a supported Display Dock beams all the apps to a larger screen. According to him, this feature is a great tool that makes the phone more productive. “For a country that is mobile first, the new phone offers a unique option to act as a personal computer”.
