Several recent polls provided some sobering news for Trump as he prepares to mark the 100 days.
An average of major polls compiled by RealClearPolitics.com as of April 23 showed 42.5 percent of respondents approve of Trump’s performance, and 51.6 percent disapprove. Fox News says Trump has a 43% approval rating. A majority, 54 percent, say they disapprove of Democrats in Congress, but the Republican majority is even more unpopular, garnering a 69 percent disapproval rating.

But don’t expect these results to sway Trump as he approaches the 100-day mark.
Before Trump, Clinton, in fact, had the lowest 100-day approval rating of any modern president, according to Gallup.
“I mean, business shouldn’t have anything to do with families”, said poll respondent Debbie Bolton from Erlanger, Kentucky, referring to the role of government as caretaker and helper.

While Trump’s voters also still back building of a wall on the border with Mexico, they prefer healthcare if forced to choose between the two issues. Less than a third said either party was “in touch”. Also of note was the reaction to Trump’s use of Twitter. “There is a hunger in this nation to get something done, to meet the other party in the middle”.
