Million Early Ballots Are in the Mail to Arizona Voters

Vote-by-mail ballots for the November 8 presidential general election were mailed earlier this week.

Besides the presidential contest, local voters can cast ballots in this election for Delaware County government offices, local school boards and town positions. They may apply only by mail, by fax, by email, online or via an agent who is at least 16 years of age and who is not employed by or related within the third degree of consanguinity or affinity to any person whose name appears on the ballot.

Mailed applications must be postmarked by October 14 and received no later than October 19. “Certainly if they can not then same-day registration is available during the early voting period”.

“So far, they have not told us of any kind of decision like that”, Dana King, director of the Lenoir County Board of Elections, said.

Friday is the last day New Yorkers can register to vote in next month’s presidential election.

The Miami County Board of Elections had received 9,709 requests for absentee ballots or in-office early voting ballots by Thursday, and 334 of those votes were cast Wednesday.

Polls opened at 8 a.m. Wednesday, and will remain open weekdays from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. through October 30. We allocated $670,000 to implement early voting, which includes payment for a citywide marketing campaign and long-term investments in such items as electronic poll books, which are used to process voters at the polling locations and can be useful in future elections. Voters must turn in their registration forms to their location elections office by Friday.

NY residents can register online until Friday at the Department of Motor Vehicles website if they have a ny state driver’s license or non-driver identification card. “It makes sense. You know, suppose Ohio’s weird weather whacks out and we get an ice storm on voting day”. In addition to regular business hours, there will also be voting hours three evenings and one weekend during the early voting weeks. The DMV automatically forwards the registration form to the resident’s board of elections-they can check the New York State voter registration search engine to ensure their form was received.

One of them was Laura Telford, who said her first time voting was in 1960 for John F. Kennedy.
