Monday voter registration deadline for special election

The deadline to register to vote in the primary election is fast approaching and it’s easier than you think to register to vote.

New Hampshire’s primary is February 9th, but voter registration closes ten days before an election.

Starling told News 2 you can register to vote by mail as long as it’s post-marked by Monday. Voter registration forms, information about voting and other election-related topics are accessible at wilsonelections.com.

“We have an obligation as citizens of our country and our local community to participate in elections”, Madison County Administrator of Elections Kim Buckley said.

Early voting starts on the February 16 and election day is March 1.

Wednesday is the deadline in Louisiana, Friday is the deadline in Oklahoma and Saturday in Mississippi.

The measure will likely face a battle in the Kansas Legislature, which has recently passed more restrictive voting laws, including the photo ID and proof of citizenship requirements.
