We’ll just have to wait and see.
Motorola has some exciting plans for 2018 as is evident from its lineup of devices for the year that just got leaked online.
Those are the only details about these two new Motorola Moto Z3 so far, although there are some details about a 5G Moto Mod which would add 5G functions to existing devices without having to buy a new smartphone. Moto G6 Plus will be launched in three colours: Deep Indigo, Nimbus, and Dark Lake.
To start with Moto X5, the leaked press render reveals that it will sport a bezel-less design, which is in line with this year’s smartphones. The Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play, Moto X5, Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play, and 5G Moto Mod are all included in multiple Droid Life reports complete with images and specs. The above image shows how different the phone looks as compared to other Moto phones. To the right of the notch are the time and battery indicator while to the left are cell and Wi-Fi signals. However, unlike the Moto X4, the Moto X5 flaunts a bezel-less design and seems to sport iPhone X-like notch up top (notice the status bar icons that are split at both the sides). Unlike the Moto E5, the fingerprint reader of the Moto G6 hasn’t been moved to its rear. The dual rear camera is again accommodated within a raised enclosure at the rear with the batwing logo placed under it. Motorola’s budget G Series which includes three devices has been leaked. Instead, Motorola would have made a decision to introduce a system of facial unlocking, as well as a new method of navigation by gestures, as pointed by the virtual white button that appears at the bottom of the screen. There’s also a weird white button on the bottom of almost each of these phones’ screens which I have no idea what is.
So where’s the fingerprint scanner? There’s also no way of telling if it’s underneath the display or if the “M” logo on the back will function as one. The massive leaks also show that the Moto X5 will have a dual rear camera and Motorola’s own “smart AI”. A 3,200mAh battery will be fueling the Moto G6 Plus and it will be featuring a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Similar to the Moto X5, the Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play are also leaked by Droid Life in some renders.
“According to Droid Life, both the Moto Z3 and Z3 Play will get a 6″ FullHD+ 18:9 display but there’s a possibility of a higher spec Snapdragon 845 variant that would come with a higher resolution display. The Moto G6 sports a 3,000mAh battery and a dual 12MP+5MP rear camera and 16MP front camera, the Moto G6 Plus bumps that up to a 3,200mAh battery and a dual 12MP+5MP rear camera (with 1.4um pixel size) and a front-facing 16MP camera. The Moto G6 Plus, with a 5.93-inch screen, goes with a Snapdragon 630 and 3,200 mAh battery pack. It’s possible that Motorola will be opting for one that lies underneath the display like we saw with Vivo at CES 2018, a facial recognition system, or a combination of the two. Lenovo will most likely unveil the handsets at the MWC 2018 next month. No word yet on pricing and launch date for the G6 Play.
The base G6 features a 5.7-inch 1080p display and has a Snapdragon 450 chipset at its core. Either Motorola is going for a Face unlocking method or perhaps they might introduce an in-screen fingerprint sensor for the Moto Z3. The smartphones seem to carry the same design as the current Moto X4 smartphones. The images are supported by an Evan Blass tweet from October.
Earlier today we have reported about upcoming smartphones from Motorola.
