The Railway was informed by Mumbai ATS after the latter received an e-mail threatening of a bomb blast on the Delhi-Lucknow train.
After the entire train was evacuated at Ghaziabad, all the coaches were thoroughly searched by the bomb disposal squad that were assisted by sniffer dogs.
The Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express was evacuated at the railway station in Ghaziabad this morning after reports of a bomb scare on the train.
The ASI had called the station managers requesting all Delhi-Kanpur trains be checked before being allowed to leave.
Railway have strengthened security measures at all major railway stations, including New Delhi, Nizamuddin, Old Delhi and Anand Vihar in Delhi division after the bomb threat. The letter says that the sender has threatened to explode the trains within next 72 hours. Even the passengers were frisked by security personnel at the station, said an official of the railways. The scare came shortly after Pakistan-based ultras attacked an air force base in Punjab’s Pathankot early on Saturday morning.
