Neymar’s father reveals ‘huge offer’ from unnamed club

He said the group also doesn’t know whether there is any truth in his father’s claim that Neymar has an offer of 190 million euros ($210 million) from another club.

The Red Devils are one of the clubs interested in the Brazil global and have made attempts to sign the player in the past. Barcelona valued the transfer at about €57 million (S$89 million), but Spanish authorities think it added up to more than €83 million.

Neymar’s father has revealed that Manchester United made a £144m bid for the Barcelona attacker during the last summer transfer window.

The Spanish publication claimed that United recently made a new approach to offer Barcelona, to pay the full €190m release clause of the player, while also informing Neymar about their intentions to secure his services.

Neymar, his father, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and former club president Sandro Rosell were all called to testify by Spain’s highest court this week over a complaint for fraud and corruption brought by DIS.

The biggest rumour to come out so far is involving Barcelona superstar Neymar and the EPL Giant Manchester United.

However, should the player decide to leave Barcelona, other clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich could also enter the fray in order to compete with United and Real Madrid for his signature.

“I feel morally and economically betrayed”, DIS owner Delcir Sonda told a press conference in Madrid.

“Neymar’s legal problems could affect his image in one way or another, but not to the point of breaking contracts or losing sponsors”, Erich Beting, director of Maquina do Esporte and an expert in football marketing in Brazil, told AFP.
